Description
Delicious crispy halloumi fries, perfect for snacking or as an appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 250 g Halloumi Cheese
- 3 tbsp Plain / All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 0 tsp Cumin
- Olive Oil for frying
Instructions
- Start by slicing your halloumi cheese into even-sized fries, aiming for pieces about 1 (½ inch) thick. You should have approximately 10 fries.
- On a large plate, combine the plain flour, paprika, and cumin, mixing them well. Roll each halloumi fry in the flour mixture to coat.
- In a frying pan, pour enough olive oil to cover the bottom and heat it over medium heat until shimmering.
- Fry half of the coated halloumi fries for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Transfer the first batch to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Repeat with the remaining fries, adding more oil if necessary.
- Serve the halloumi fries hot, enjoying with your choice of dips like sweet chili sauce or spicy aioli.
Notes
- Look for halloumi in the cheese section or Mediterranean delis if needed.
- Plain flour can be substituted with gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
- Optional spices like oregano or mint can be used for variation.
