Description

Delicious cheesy chicken buns filled with shredded chicken, cream cheese, and jalapeños.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup jalapeños, diced (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 package of ready-to-bake burger buns (8 count)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook chicken in boiling water seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder for about 15-20 minutes until fully cooked. Shred the chicken.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, and optional hot sauce until creamy.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut tops off buns and hollow them out slightly.
  4. Fill each bun generously with the chicken mixture and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Brush melted butter over the tops of the buns and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
