Description

A delightful dessert combining layers of soft pound cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups pound cake cubed
  • 3 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup mixed berries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Cut pound cake into even bite sized cubes.
  2. Toss sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and let rest 15 minutes.
  3. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  4. Layer cake cubes in trifle bowl and spoon strawberry juices over them.
  5. Add whipped cream and berries then repeat layers until bowl is full.
  6. Finish with whipped cream and fresh berries on top.
  7. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving for best texture.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider using a splash of orange liqueur in the strawberry mix.
  • This trifle can be prepared a day in advance for a more developed flavor.
