Description

A delicious and fresh twist on nachos with marinated tuna, avocado, and a spicy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces raw sushi grade tuna
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 68 ounces tortilla chips
  • 1 large avocado, peeled, seeded and diced
  • 1 small cucumber, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup Bang bang sauce or chipotle mayo

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting the tuna into very small bite-sized pieces, about 1/2 inch cubes. The smaller the pieces, the better they will absorb the marinade. Set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Mix well, then add the diced tuna to the bowl. Gently toss until the tuna is evenly coated. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for exactly 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. While the tuna marinates, prepare a large serving plate. Spread the tortilla chips in a single layer. Ensure they’re not overcrowded, as this helps maintain their crispiness.
  4. Once the tuna has marinated, take it out of the fridge. Using a spoon, evenly distribute the marinated tuna over the chips. You want each chip to have a good portion of tuna for a balanced bite.
  5. Next, scatter the diced avocado and chopped cucumber over the tuna. This adds freshness and creaminess, contrasting beautifully with the crunchy chips.
  6. Sprinkle the fresh chopped cilantro on top for an extra burst of flavor and color. This also enhances the overall presentation.
  7. Finally, drizzle the Bang bang sauce or chipotle mayo over the entire plate. This sauce adds a delightful kick. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor!

Notes

  • Make sure to use sushi grade tuna for safety and quality.
  • Adjust the amount of Bang bang sauce or chipotle mayo to your taste preference.
  • This dish is best served immediately after preparation.
